Personal Property Appraisals

A personal property appraisal is an evaluation of the value of personal property, such as art, collectibles, jewelry, and household furnishings. These appraisals may be needed for a variety of reasons, such as for insurance purposes, tax assessments, estate planning, or to establish a selling price for the item.

Art
Appraisals

An art appraisal is an assessment of the value of a work of art. Art appraisals can be used for a variety of purposes, such as determining the value of a piece for insurance purposes, for tax deductions, for estate planning, or for selling or donating the piece.

Antique
Appraisals

Antique appraisals involve evaluating the age, rarity, condition, and value of an antique or collectible item. There are many factors that can affect the value of an antique, including its age, rarity, provenance (history of ownership), condition, and demand.

Divorce
Appraisals

A divorce appraisal is a type of valuation that is conducted to determine the value of assets that are owned by a couple during a divorce proceeding. The purpose of a divorce appraisal is to provide a fair and unbiased estimate of the value of these assets, which can be used to divide the assets equitably between the two parties during the divorce process.

Estate and Trust Appraisals

Estate and trust appraisals are valuations of the assets that are held in an estate or trust. These appraisals are usually conducted for tax or legal purposes, such as determining the value of an estate for estate tax purposes or determining the value of assets that are being distributed to beneficiaries of a trust. The purpose of the appraisal is to determine the fair market value of the assets in question.

Insurance
Appraisals

Insurance appraisals are evaluations of the value of a particular item or property. These appraisals are often used in the process of obtaining insurance coverage for the item or property in question. Insurance appraisals can also be used to determine the value of a property for other purposes, such as estate planning or tax assessments.

NFT Appraisals

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are digital assets that represent ownership of a unique item or piece of content, such as a piece of artwork or a collectible. NFT appraisals involve determining the value of a particular NFT.

Family Distribution Appraisals

The distribution of personal property, such as items of sentimental value or heirlooms, can be a sensitive and emotional process, particularly when it is being done as part of the distribution of an estate after the death of a loved one. It can be helpful to have the assistance of an appraiser to determine the value of the items being distributed. An appraiser can objectively assess the value of the items, which can help ensure that the distribution is fair to all parties involved.

What We Appraise?

Frequently Asked Questions

I am not sure what service I need. What should I do

If you are unsure of what service you need, call or email us and explain what you are looking to do. Our expert appraisers will help you identify the type of service you need.

Can you tell me what my things are worth over the phone

Unfortunately, we are not able to tell you what your property is worth over the phone. We need to see an image or multiple images to provide you with any information. Once we understand the type of service you need, if we are able to assist, we will provide you with a quote for the cost of the service request. Once payment is rendered, our appraisers will send you your appraisal document, email, or phone consultation with information regarding your property.

How much does an appraisal cost

The cost of our appraisal services depends on the type of appraisal being requested, the number of items being appraised, the type of appraisal service needed (in person or online), and the property’s complexity. Appraisals can range from several hundred dollars to several thousand dollars or more. Our specialists will provide you with a quote before any work is performed.

What if I don't agree with the appraised price

Appraisals are educated options on the value of personal property, and while the goal of any appraiser is to be objective, each appraiser has their subjective opinion on the interpretation of data, metrics, and their own experience. As such, it is very often noted that appraisals can deviate from one to the next for the same item, even within the same time frame. The notion that the highest appraisal is also the most accurate is often not always right. It is also common for people not familiar with the appraisal industry to misunderstand appraised values. Due to the amount of contradicting information in the market, prices for a single item can appear exponentially different depending on where you look. Our apprised prices are generally based on previous examples of sold or marketed to-be-sold property. Therefore there is a basis for presenting such result. We will gladly share such information with you if you are dissatisfied with the result of your appraisal on request. We are also willing to reconsider the appraised value of your property with valid evidence. We also generally discourage clients from using appraisals for the purposes of selling personal property, as the dynamics of selling property are often more complex than that of a single price point.
